Founded in 2001, KooNewYork is devoted to raising overall profile of Korean art & culture in the West, KooNewYork's primary goal is to feature a wide range of high quality art that appeals to scholars, collectors and the general public alike. KooNewYork's underlying mission is to create a compelling dialogue and continuum between the antique and contemporary. Whether classical or contemporary, solid provenance remains our top priority.

Since 2005, KooNewYork has focused on holding public exhibitions throughout the year in both its East 64th Street gallery and off-site art fairs, such as the esteemed International Asian Art Fair at the Park Avenue Armory.  From 2010 onwards, KooNewYork holds its public exhibition during the important spring Asia Week season, while available for private viewings.

 

ABOUT JIYOUNG KOO

Jiyoung Koo is recognized worldwide as a leading specialist and private dealer of Korean Art in the global market. The former Head of the Korean Art Department at Sotheby’s New York and Managing Director of Sotheby’s Korea from 1991-2000, Ms. Koo has placed important antique and contemporary pieces in the world’s principal museums and private collections.
